WRU Playing: Obvious edition [update 1]

We almost forgot it's Friday, and that can mean only one thing. That's right, it's time for another exciting edition of What Are You Playing! Of course, this may be the first week that I can guess what most of you are playing. Let's see, using only the powers of my mind, I'm going to guess you're playing Gears of War this weekend. Was I right? Was I close?

All kidding aside, it might be more relevant to ask what people are playing besides Gears of War -- especially our European friends who have to wait another week for the game. So, are you rocking anything else? Any Project 8 or maybe a few achievement runs in Contra? For that matter, who picked up Viva Piñata? Leave a comment and tell us what you're playing this weekend. Don't forget to stop by one of our leaderboards for some friendly competition or co-op, too. Also, we've got a new feature for WRUP: What Were You Playing. Simply click the link below and you can browse our What Are You Playing archive. Go dig up your old comments and you'll always know what you were playing. Reminisce about your gaming past, courtesy of 360 Fanboy.

3. Gears of War is good. A little overhyped, but good.

4. Yep - I'm playing COD3 too, one week to finish it ahead of GOW!

5. Gears of War is pretty awsome but also is CoD3. Both have amazing single player and pretty good multiplayer.

6. U already know GOW. Trying to finish Splinter Cell DA and Fear.

9. I have 3 games for this weekend. Gears of War, Viva Pinata and Call of Duty 3. Luckily, I beat Fear yesterday, so I could put that one aside until later.

10. Bah, still haven't picked up GOW or Viva Pinata. Going to knock out a few achievements on N3, and have another crack at Lumines.

Speaking of which, I take everything back about the Time Challenge achievements being a breeze which I said last week. I hadn't spotted the second tier of ridiculously hard achievements which have been forcing me to eat humble pie ever since.

11. I picked up both GOW and THP8 this week, so I'll be playing both until Sunday, then Gears probably most of the day.

12. I'm probably going to pick up Gears of War, but I've been playing the hell out of Lego Star Wars II. (Did no one else buy this for the 360? I don't hear it mentioned often.) There's a chance I may go back and try for some achievements I didn't get the first go-round in Dead Rising and Condemned.

13. Right now I'm playing Gears of War and a little game called "Don't Fuck Up In College". The second game is harder than Gears on Insane right about now.

14. Gears of War, Fear, hopefully finishing off that encrypted email BS on Double Agent, and UNO as the special sauce between the said gaming meatiness. SHAAAAAAA!!!!

16. Finished Splinter Cell earlier this week, picked up GoW (finally) on Wednesday been playing it since and will be trading in Splinter Cell for Viva Pinata tonight.

GoW earns its stars alone for the multiplayer capabilities. Especially if I'm the last one alive and my teammates are spectating, I always go for the chainsaw FTW to give 'em a little something...

17. I'm playing COD3. GOW is looking like its going to be a rental for me. I like the way the game looks graphic's wise, but other than that I don't think it brings anything new to the genre. O' and the multiplayer does'nt have a capture the flag or any other objective based gametype's. The online co-op is cool from what I've seen, but the rest of multiplayer is lacking to me.

18. Playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance and waiting for my online-ordered Viva Pinata.

Tip for Dirk Dorkelson: Don't leave Return of the Jedi Super Story for your last gold brick. I played LSWII for like 30 hours, got 98/99 bricks and now ROTJ Super Story freezes on me in the same spot every time, so I'm stuck with an unfinished game and no 100% Achievement. Lotta people getting the same problem.

19. GOW and COD3 :D

20. I'm frankly overwhelmed with great titles that I have in my possession.

Gears of War, Splinter Cell DA, Call of Duty 3 and Lego Star Wars II.

So many games...so little time.
