Go all Dualshock on your 360

If for some odd reason you wish you could use your uncomfortable PS2 controller on your 360, then TeamXtender has an answer. TeamXtender is in the planning stages of creating an adapter that your Xbox 360 controller would plug into to allow full PS2 Dualshock support and would also allow keyboard/mouse connectivity. I'm in love with my sexy white controller, but would you be enticed by such an offering or are you like me and satisfied with the your current 360 controller?

[Thanks, SuicideNinja]

1. Here's one for the knight in the white shining armor. I liked the original xbox controller, I love the 360 one. Though. I have big hands.

2. I'm satisfied with the current 360 controller; it is probably my favorite of any system to date.

3. Hell no! There's not a reason good enough that would change my mind about using the 360 controller...

4. I might consider using a DualShock for games that require abusive button-mashing, like WWE Smackdown vs. RAW 2007. That way, I don't wreck my $50 controller and can instead pick up a cheapo used DualShock for well under $15.

5. ...mouse? How. There's no way to support it in games and such(firing controls, etc). Also, with the keyboard, how would you assign the controls. I don't know about you, but I haven't seen WASD, ctrl, shift, or space options on the controller layout screens.

6. I can think of one game that will absolutely benefit from the dual shock: Winning Eleven 10. The 360 d-pad is actually a step down from the xbox d-pad and doing all the moves and tricks are infinitely easier on the pad than the analog stick. The developers of WE even go so far as to claim that the game was designed for the dual shock, stating that the control experience is definitely different on 360.

7. I would get it just for the Keyboard/mouse functionality.

Mmmmm, that would be niiice.

8. By the sounds of things none of you guys ever used the FragJoy attachments for the xbox.

Essentially, there's a bit of software encoded into the hardware (which would mean a chip inside the dongle) What this serves as is a medium of transfer for the layout you set up. It'll generally come with some pre-loaded set-ups and sensitivities, like my FragJoy had "Halo", "Rainbow Six", "Mechassult", etc. On the FragJoy these presets were mapped to the function buttons, so you could change them on the fly. There were also 4-5 empty function buttons that you could map yourself, and that was detailed in the manual. Generally it required to hit an unused key then hit a sequence to choose which button on the Xbox controller you would like to match up to the keyboard. So something like you'd hit "Prnt Scrn" then the desired button, let's say for X you'd hid "x", then you'd hit whatever you'd like that to be mapped to on the keyboard/mouse.

9. It would be ideal if this device worked with the PS2s Guitar Hero controllers on the upcoming version due out in the spring, so anyone who has the guitars from these two iterations won't have to buy more guitars just for the 360 version.

10. Guys, guys, guys... Why did it take 9 posts for CT to finally point out the most obvious, HUGEST reason for this adapter! If it works, I'm super psyched. And keyboard support? That'd be great too.

11. Why in gods name would I want to put an abortion of a videogame controller like the Dual Shock on my 360?

Fuck no.

12. The dualshock is an great controller, it held the crown for a long time.

But the XBOX 360 controller owns it hard. I even bought an extra wired one to use for games on my PC. Most comfortable controller made to date.

I guess the converter could be ok if you are a ps2 lover and you just are super used to it. But otherwise there just isn't any point to that adapter.

13. Forget the Dual Shock, this is great news for other reasons. Now we can use the PS2 adapter with the x-arcade joystick and have a decent stick for fighting games.

14. If it supports PS2 arcade sticks, I'm all for it. I'd like to use my Tekken 5 Hori stick or my HAPP modded Street Fighter Anniversary Collection stick for UMK3, DOA4 and SF2, as well as any future fighters.

15. i'd use the keyboard the xbox 360 controller is too small for my hands

16. K&M, no thanks, but I would like to use all my old XBOX1 gear. Not instead of my 360 wireless pads (which apart from the d-pad are great), but as well. I have 4 pad (2 's' type) dance mats, and an expensive arcade stick, and it would be great to use them for 4 player games, and not have to replace perfectly good mats etc. I also have the big Steel Battalion controller and a light gun, but I'm sure that's just hoping for too much! How about a nice 2 xbox(1) into 1 USB xbox360 friendly hub? Even at the price of 1 wired pad would be great.

17. I'd buy one in an instant for the next version of Pro Evolution Soccer which HAS to be better than the current offering. Similarly to Madden, the first release of this on the 360 is a much cutdown edition of the PS2 version (in terms of added extras at least) and yet cost £10 more!
I'm sorry to say I played it for a weekend on the 360, before taking it back and swapping for the PS2 version.
Since I've played virtually every edition of this game, the feel of the Dualshock is now programmed into the muscle memory of my fingers, and using the 360 controller certainly didn't make me like the game any better!

18. PS2 Controller, who cares!?
Bring on the Mouse and Keyboard, baby!!!
This will be a joyous day indeed. Where can I pre-order?

19. A friend of mines criticized the 360's controller - he said it's too big.
But that's just too much PS3 hype! The PS2 controller is far too small - after a while it gets painful to play. It does not have enough buttons and there is also the lack of triggers for touch-sensitiveness, playing driving games without touch-sensitive triggers is useless. Those L2, R2 buttons are far too small and thin too.
The 360 controller is just perfect, like the S Type Controller, it has two analogue sticks AND a D-Pad, 4 buttons, 2 bumpers, 2 triggers and 3 center buttons.
The Sixaxis and its predecessors simply do not have enough buttons. And I'd say the same for the PSP too - not enough buttons - plus I hate that little black revolving button thing...
