Chileans get their 360 on

Still don't have an Xbox 360? Do you live in Chile? Then you're in luck my friend! The curvy white box hit store shelves in Chile last week, inspiring these ladies to impersonate protagonists from mediocre launch titles. Just for a moment, recall how disappointed you were when you played Perfect Dark Zero for the first time. Let that sink in for a second. That is what it's like to be a 360 fan in Chile right now. At least they have access to the best launch title, right?

Good lord, can you imagine having to wait 5 months for GRAW and Oblivion again?

1. Perhaps YOU were dissapointed the first time you played PDZ. I happen to enjoy it. Ive played PDZ, Tony hawk, Battefield MC, COD2, Burnout revenge, and every demo availalble on xbox marketplace, and I STILL play PDZ as my primary online game to date.

Perhaps you should stop comparing it to the original, and learn to play a game without autoaim and get some kills. Then maybe you will like it to, instead of knocking the game after playing it for an hour and probably coming in last place in every online match you played.

These guys are lucky to be able to play PDZ.

2. Ha, yeah. Duno what he's talking about. PDZ is no Halo but its still a damn fun game and even thought it could do with quite a few improvements its still worth the money and was one of the more fun launch titles.

3. Perfect Dark Zero has an average of 81% on Gamerankings.com. I think it's a good game (as do many others, obviously).

But I do remember how disappointed I was the first time I read an article from Richard Mitchell, if that helps any.

4. Should I feel bad for enjoying PDZ? It had its flaws, but the gameplay was a decent upgrade to the original and it had some really nice online modes.

6. Grow up guys. Somebody -- i.e. me -- disliking something that you like is not a personal insult. I'm glad you like PDZ. I don't.

What's wrong with that?

7. Welcome to being a fanboy blogger. Enjoy the abuse ;) Should have said Dynasty Warriors instead of PDZ in my opinion.

8. Yeah I don't know what you're talking about Richard.

I love screen tearing, spawn-killing bots, the multiplayer announcer's voicework, and often unintuitive campaign missions.

9. Hey, I agree with Richard. I downloaded the PDZ demo from Live (and this was before the nice active download update). After waiting for it, I played it for about 30 mins before concluding that it was a hunk of crap not worth the hard drive space nor the controller batteries that it wasted.

Whats wrong is your post here on 360 fanboys says.... "Just for a moment, recall how disappointed you were when you played Perfect Dark Zero for the first time.". Your implying we all hate it when its for the most part, a successful and considered fun by most people. I

If you dont like the game, simply say "Just for a moment, I recalled how disappointed I was when I played Perfect Dark Zero for the first time." rather then giving the genral impression that PDZ is percieved by the masses as a low graded game along the ranks with other B games

11. PDZ is retarded and it is for retarded people only. If you are retarded please turn away now, for the following will offend you.

I wasted my life downloading the PDZ demo and immediately deleted it with haste after I was done punching myself in the face. At one point while playing I shot an NPC in the HEAD 4 times at medium distance. I didn't believe what happened next; the NPC gave me the big middle finger and continued to run around like a fucking bag of douche. After another excruciating 2 minutes of play, I stood still and let another scary bad man rape my sexy body with bullets. It took more than 10 seconds to get my shields, or whatever the fuck they are, down to nil. I then realized why this game can be appealing. Even if you are retarded you can still play this game without dying every 30 seconds.

The people in Chile will soon realize that the real requirements to play PDZ are a stutter and a lazy eye.

They'll also have to wait 5 months to find out just how bad GRAW's online matchmaking really is.

12. URINEIDIOT,

Obviously you are a Halo player because you are expecting GRAW (and just about every Xbox Live game) to have "matchmaking" like Halo.

GRAW Isn't Halo....It's a tactical shooter and you shouldn't be allowed to jump on in the middle of a match. I've noticed that alot of you Halo players complain because...god forbid you actually have to wait to play a game if you get in the server too late.

IMO Graw's Optimatch feature works perfectly fine...in fact it works just like 90% of all Xbox Live multiplayer games.

You should try making friends on Live so that you don't have to continuously go through optimatch to find a good room.

Posted at 3:52PM on Jun 19th 2006 by KingOfGods 0 stars

13. KingOfGods,

What is the difference of matchmaking and optimatch? They both put you in a game with other players, right? Matchmaking is like saying Band-Aid or iPod. They're both just brand names. Halo 2 is so popular it has made the term matchmaking very plausible terminology in describing they way an online game sets up it's players and levels, etc.

As far as GRAW goes, I jump into a lobby, no problem, waited a couple minutes, no problem, the game starts, all is well, I find my first target, pull the trigger, the connection is lost. This has happened many, many times and I know I'm not the only one. There are a lot of different incidents to describe the many ways GRAW's Opti-Matchmaking sucks ass.

In other words, you meaningless bullshit is just that.

Posted at 4:31PM on Jun 19th 2006 by URINEIDIOT 0 stars

14. Actually Halo's matchmaking does exactly that. It matches you up with players based on your ranking. Optimatch gives you a list of rooms available based on the criteria you set it to search for (LMS, Sharpshooter, certain map, voice on or off, etc..) and you choose what room to play in.....So yeah there is a big difference.

As far as being dropped from rooms....that sucks for you. Sure I've experienced it, it has to do with the host of the room pushing his connection to a limit it shouldn't go (trying to host too many players). It doesn't occur all that often and isn't even that big of a deal as you're exaggerating it to be. With my connection I can hold 10 players and if I push it up to anymore it starts to drop people. Like I said before, make some friends on Live so you don’t have to go through Optimatch.

15. Personally I thought PDZ was a well below-par experience. I couldn't get on with the first few tedious single-player levels and it's multiplayer wasn't a patch on Halo 2 and that's a fact.

Posted at 12:44AM on Jun 20th 2006 by Deano 0 stars

16. All I can say about PDZ is that the one player campaign has an arcade feel to it.

The storyline is not poignant or plausible, and some of the elements are farfetched. It did however showcase the Xbox360's graphics quite well.

If you like games where you can immerse into the interactive-movie experience, this game has little to satisfy. For all the fps guys out there that fancy pointless shootin' then this game is awesome.

I would say that the game wasn't mindblowing or engaging as, let's say... Metal Gear. Not that we expected it to.
