Lumines denied, Live still buggy

Maybe you're like us. You woke up this morning, eager to download Lumines Live or see if the Phantasy Star beta is still running. You may have been disappointed, then, to see that Live is still pretty buggy. We received errors in Marketplace when trying to download Lumines Live, random disconnects, and an inability to accept voice chat requests. Looks like whatever they're still doing to is affecting Live in some way. Consider this a place to complain. And if any of you have managed to successfully download Lumines, let us know.

21. The kids being babys on here are all fat. Probably have chairs that smell like ass like any gaming center and have parents that don't care about there wellbeing. Let them bitch, they will be dead soon like those kids in china that die in the middle of a WOW session.

22. MTU error is your end. Check your router. Someone changed the MTU from 1500 to some smaller number and you're getting fragmented packets.

26. "Go outside?" "Go do something else?" Yeah thanks for the insightful advice, twelve-year-olds. I go outside all the time; I choose to GAME on Tuesday nights, so yeah, it was inconvenient. And it's still not up. Sure, it's no big deal, but don't suck Microsoft's weiner about how you'd gladly wait 2 days instead of one, and how great it all is. Jeez. It's a videogame fan site; of course things like this are going to be taken seriously.

29. really...1-2 days without online gaming? who cares? sheesh, get a grip people! Like someone said earlier, had this been the Sony "free" service, we wouldn't even deserve a warning that the service would go down...we'd just be wasting out time trying to log on over and over

30. I was able to download Lumines just fine from the Toronto area this mornign at 6:30 EST. However I did notice that Live kept disconnecting when I tried the tiral out. I didn't have an chance to investigate further due to having to fly out the door to get to work.

32. I also downloaded it this morning at 5:30 am without any problems. The updates may not have replicated throughout all the Live servers yet.

33. Freaking Crybabies! Get over it! OMG I CAN'T PLAY MY VIDEOGAMES ONLINE! This is the first time LIVE has been down in how long? You gotta be reasonable with things like this if you want an awesome service such as LIVE. Just my opinion.

36. Never mind all that. here's a complaint for you. Why aren't any of these "Arcade" Titles 2-player they are only 2-player vs. CPU or play your friend on live head-to-head. Maybe I would like to play bejeweled, uno or lumines with my wife. And yes I know I can if I connect to 360's together but that is just stupid.

Smash TV,
Hardwood Backgammon,
Time Pilot,
Lumines Live (from what I understand),
Bankshot Billiards 2,
Marble Blast Ultra,
Cloning Clyde.

40. I don't think anyone should sue over this; that's just silly.

I would hope, however, that the next time Microsoft brings the system down, they go ahead and claim it'll be a 48-hour downtime. Too many people in the software industry just aren't willing to recognize the old "estimate your times, then double them" rule. I have a hunch the engineers said it'd take about 24-48 hours, and the rest of the XBL team went with the lower number.

Of course, I don't work there, so I could be just plain wrong. Maybe they only expected it to take 12-24 hours, then something unexpected happened. Ahh.... nothin' like life in the internet age, eh?
